Nov 24, 2022 Associate Professor Sriridej Sujiva, dean of the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University delivered the speech for the opening ceremony of NeuroArt Lounge at Chula as part of "Exploring the Intersection of Art, Design, and Science The Importance of Transdisciplinary Thinking in the 21st Century" international exhibition.
.
NeuroArt Lounge is presented by the department of Education; Technology and Communications, Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University, The Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Program (RGJ-Ph.D. Program) National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and the Department of Art and Design at Purdue University.
.
NeuroArt Lounge is an experimental visual neurofeedback system composed of two apps that examines the relationship between brain signals, computing, design, visualization, and visual expression.
.
The NeuroArt Lounge is based on two apps (calm and focus). The apps emerged as an interdisciplinary collaboration between Prof. Petronio Bendito, Associate Professor of Visual Communication Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art and Performance, and computer scientist Tim Korb, former Assistant Head in the Department of Computer Science, both at Purdue.
.
At Chula, the NeuroArt Lounge will include the presence of Prof. Petronio Bendito who will lecture and give demonstrations. The audience will also be able to participate and see their brain signals change the visuals on the screen. The work explores fundamental cognitive functions: the ability to self-regulate the nervous system related to the ability of the mind to CALM and FOCUS. Demo and Audience Live Participation.
